Principal's Message
Welcome
Wilkins Public School is set on abundant natural grounds with multiple play areas, a full-size oval, basketball courts (indoors and outdoors), a community garden and bush regeneration area. We have an extensive performing arts program including multiple choirs and bands, and dedicated weekly music, drama and dance lessons taught by highly-expertised specialist teachers. We are supported by strong P&C involvement with the school, and have a proactive, wraparound Learning Support Team.
Our school hosts onsite Out of School Hours Care, a council run preschool, and multiple artistic, sporting and other community user-run programs for children and adults in the community. We also host a NSW Department of Education Opportunity Class (OC) Program for Year5 and Year6.
At Wilkins Public School, we aim to nurture and inspire a community of lifelong learners who are empowered to embrace challenges, demonstrate adaptability, resilience, compassion and empathy, and to forge meaningful connections, developing active and positive contributors to our community.
We have a shared commitment to celebrate the diversity of the whole school community, fostering connection and creating a sense of belonging and inclusion through holistic support where every student, staff and community member feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive physically, emotionally, socially and academically to achieve their potential and embrace who they are.
We aim to develop consistency and equity of experience for all school community members by having high expectations for all students to achieve and engage; by developing consistent and transparent processes and procedures; and by developing clear routines, expectations and meta-language that is consistent across the school.
We endeavour to foster a warm, supportive, optimal learning environment where students and staff love to attend; one that is full of happy, engaged students, staff and community members.

Strategic Improvement Plan
We have developed a Strategic Improvement Plan (SIP) in consultation with our community, identifying student outcomes and connected to a budget.
The School Excellence Framework (SEF) underpins our school planning and reporting approach. The framework provides a clear description of the key elements of high-quality practice across learning, teaching and leading.
The SIP is a working document that details the steps our school will take to improve learning outcomes, and the achievement and growth of all students. To ensure continuous improvement, the SIP reflects where our school is at and how it will further improve learning, teaching and leading.
It demonstrates our alignment and our commitment to excellence as part of public education in NSW to ensure a profound difference to the ongoing growth and development of our students.
